Tulip

Tulip (Tulipa) is a genus name for the 100 species of flowering plants belonging to the family Liliaceae. Tulip originated from Central Asia, growing wild in the mountains and the steppes of Kazakhstan. Holland is famous as the land of tulips. Tulip is also the national flower of Iran and Turkey.

Tulip is an annual plant that bulbous between 10-70 cm high, waxy leaves, narrow elongated shaped shades tinted bluish green, the flowers are large and comprised 6 leaf crown. Tulip from crosses produce a single colored flowers, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, or variety of combination and shades. Tulip produces seeds wrapped round flat dry capsules.

At first tulip flowers growing wild in Central Asia and West Asia. Ottoman Turks were lured to the beauty and perfection of tulip flowers began to grow since the year 1000. Tulips motives have long been widely used in the art of Persian and Turkish ornaments.
