Indonesia Will Receive An Award From FAO

PONTIANAK, Indonesia will receive an award from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in a conference in Rome, Italy June 16. Indonesia is able to speed up efforts to push malnutrition.

This way stated by the Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Agung in Pontianak, on Monday (27/05/2013).

Malnutrition in Indonesia reaches 20 percent of the total  population in 2000, and should be able to press up to 10 percent in 2005. However, by the end of 2012, malnutrition can be reduce to eight percent.

"Cases of malnutrition if not treated properly will lead to malnutrition. Indonesia has been able to overcome that problem, and even achievements surpassed the targets set in the MDGs," said Agung.

Poor nutrition can continue to be pressed, because the availability of jobs in various areas. "The opportunities to create jobs should be captured by governors, regents and mayors. Become an important factor in reducing malnutrition,"said Agung.
